Introduction: Takht-e Aros(تخت عروس) desert, is in Isfahan province, north west of Khur(خور) city in the heart of central Kavir desert (known as Dashte-Kavir(دشت کویر) in Persian).
Takhte-aroos est known for its unique sand hills. Another attraction of the area is called Selkanoun salt lake,
These are one of the remotest places in central desert of Iran but it gets quite many visitors during the year, half of which are foreigners. Thus, they are very much familiar with tourists and provide some services to somewhat facilitate your trip.


Location: North west of Khur city, Isfahan province.

Walking path length: About 8 km for Takhte-aroos.

Days of trip: 3 Days from Tehran to Tehran

Best time to visit: November to March

Daily time visit: No limit, but in summer it is very hot.

Difficulty level: Moderately easy, (night camping with no facilities)

Requirements: Guide or GPS track, water, food, warm and waterproof clothes and tent, satellite phone, headlamp

Legal permission need: No

Animal risk: There are few number of wild animals like snake, scorpion which are active in hot seasons.

Village: No village in the path, just Farahzad village in the south (you should walk to north)

How to get there:
1- Go to South terminal of buses in Tehran
2- Take a bus ticket to Khur-o-biabanak (خور و بیابانک)
3- Get off bus in Khur (9 hours in bus)
4- Take a taxi from Khur to Farahzad village
5- Start walking
6- Get back by taxi.
7- Get a bus from Khur to Tehran

Nearest train station: No station less than 100 km
