    Dare Anjir Wildlife




    ntroduction: Having an area of approximately 175,300 ha, it has been designated a Wildlife Refuge since 2002. Located in Yazd Province, it is a mountainous, hilly and steppe region with salt lands. An estimated 3 to 5 cheetahs inhabit the area. The altitude ranges from 850 to 2,200m, with a mean annual temperature of 15.5°C and mean annual precipitation of 75mm, resulting in a temperate, extra-arid climate. The region serves as a migration corridor for the cheetah between Kalmand Protected Area, Bafq Protected Area, Siah Kuh National Park and Naybandan Wildlife Refuge.


    Plant species:
    Different plant species include fig (Ficus sp.), mountain almond (Amygdalus scoparia), wild pistachio (Pistacia atlantica), bean caper (Zygophyllum fabago), saxaul (Haloxylon sp.), tamarisk (Tamarisk sp.), camel’s thorn (Alhagi persarum), wild Syrian rue (Peganum harmala), pagoda (Sophora alopecuroides), prickly thrift (Acantholimon sp.) and poppy mallow (Calligonum sp.).


    Wildlife species:
    Wildlife species include jebeer gazelle (Gazella bennettii), wild sheep (Ovis vignei), wild goat (Capra aegagrus), cape hare (Lepus capensis), common fox (Vulpes vulpes) and leopard (Panthera pardus).

    1- Go to Bayhaghi or south terminal of buses in Tehran
    2- Take a bus ticket to Yazd or Bafgh (Also can use train or airplane)
